OUR DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
The vision Warp has for the future has always included Nature and that's where we've found our biggest inspiration.
In nature, evolution is the key principle promising survival. We live in an ever changing world. If the things that we do and things that we carry and live in don’t morph and evolve with us, they only slow us down.
It may be something as simple as a pencil or as complex as our smartphones but they all occupy time and space in our lives. If they adapt more effectively to our changing lifestyles, we can tremendously speed up productivity and, hence, the quality of our life.
Besides evolution, another aspect of nature that is ever present in all that we do at Warp is the beauty of geometric patterns found recursively at various levels. The scales that aid locomotion in snakes, the chameleon skin that enables camouflage, and the Fibonacci spiral sequence that assist plants, are a few examples illustrating the beauty and art of science as found in nature. In all of these examples, the most striking phenomena for us was the sublime interplay of form and function. Aiming for this balance is of the utmost importance in our design process.
Our product designer (and one of the co-founders at Warp), Naghmy Shireen, always begins her design process by immersing herself in nature. When she brings her accumulated inspirations to the drawing board, she experiments with the various ways her mood board can be manifested in a beautiful and user-friendly product. Some of the hallmarks of her design work are its three-dimensional geometric DNA, motion flexibility, shape-shifting nature and minimalism- all of which enable the finished product to be as organic as it is futuristic.
